  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Bit Torrent Users Will Lose Their Internet Service The EWA would like to remind its members that the use of Bit Torrent is prohibited on the compound because it severely disrupts other users’ Internet service. There is adequate bandwidth at the housing compound to support routine Internet usage, large file downloads, streaming video, etc. However, there is not bandwidth to support the use of Bit Torrent. When you use Bit Torrent, you shut down your neighbors’ Internet service. For this reason, Bit Torrent is prohibited as part of the EWA Internet service contract that all members agree to and sign. Nevertheless, we have had repeated instances of people using Bit Torrent. The EWA Board has voted to discontinue Internet service to those who violate this agreement. . The member receives a warning on the first violation. After the second violation the Internet service will be suspended for seven days. After the third violation, the Internet service will be permanently discontinued. We would like to remind you that you are responsible for all users in your household and that our service provider, DoCoMo, is able to trace Bit Torrent use to specific units within the compound, and to specific IP addresses. Please be a considerate neighbor.
